A Drive To New Beginning

Hi this is Anisha, I met this guy named Deep at a family gathering at cousin’s place. He was my cousin's best friend. The party was in the month of march and he had come there for group studies and was about to leave. But my uncle insisted him to have dinner and then move which he readily accepted. He was very jovial in nature. It hardly took any time for us to become friends. He was a nice guy with fun and loving nature who entertained us with his jokes and talks. We exchanged our numbers.

One day I had uploaded WhatsApp story with some sad songs and sad quotes, which I generally did to express my emotions. Like every teenager, I had also changed the status privacy and made sure all my relatives are mentioned while selecting "MY CONTACTS EXPECT". He saw my status and he pinged me on WhatsApp asking if everything is fine. I tried to cover up with a lame excuse, that I had uploaded it "just like that". He was a smart-ass and he knew I had hidden it from all my relatives and my brother too. So, he kept on sending me appropriate reply to all my sad songs and those heartbreak shayaris. We started chatting on various casual topics like life, relationships, studies and future goals. We decided to meet at a McDonald's one evening. It was a casual meet. I insisted him not tell my brother as I didn’t want families to get involved as my brother is a complete mama’s boy, and he shares everything with her and she being a typical Indian woman loves gossiping. I didn’t want to be there hot topic.

We started sharing everything including our darkest secrets of relationships. He was single and had a past, I was into a toxic relationship. Everything in my relationship was going out of control. I had been cheated many times but I still kept on giving him more opportunities to hurt me all over again.I didn’t have that inner strength to take the decision of breaking up with him. I blamed myself for my failed relationship. I kept meeting Deep and spent time with him. Obviously I didn’t tell my boyfriend, as he'd never let me have friends in my life. Finally the day came when I called my boyfriend and told him it's over and made peace within myself.

Once we went on a drive at Worli sea face while it rained. We clicked pics together for the first time, went for a small walk and in that moment I felt nonchalant and lovely. I finally smiled again and he just stared at me. While driving back home he asked me to open my hair. He said it looked beautiful that way. I so wanted to hug him at that moment and tell him that I liked him but we didn’t spoke single word about it. We wished, we could live in this moment forever. We came back home and that night we were chatting on casual topics and the best part about it was he was being very caring during the entire time which we had spent. In that moment, I felt loved after years. I told him not to care for me so much or I’ll fall for you. To which he replied that do I still need time to fall for him because he had already fallen for me. It was like we both had found the perfect partner in each other.
